Service to the Parish and the World Beyond our Doors

Parish Groups and Outreach Opportunities

The Outreach and Pastoral Care Committee are involved in several projects.  We are working to ensure that members who are interested in attending worship services but need transportation to and from church are matched with people who can provide transportation.  We are discerning ways to support the Scavenging Workers Children in India through the Tamilnadu Seminary.  We continue to collect non-perishable food each Sunday morning, which is donated to a local food bank.

Other Outreach Ministries to the community include our Farmers’ Market and Thrift Store on Thursdays from July to November, and our joyous Penny Social, held on the first Sunday of the month.  These events bring people to our church from the neighborhood. 

The Ushers, Acolytes and Lay Eucharistic Ministers help lead our Services of Holy Eucharist and our group of dedicated Lay Readers proclaim the Word of God. A dedicated team provides refreshments each week after each service on Sundays and a light lunch after the Wednesday noon service of Healing and Holy Eucharist.

Saint John’s Festival Choir sings on major holidays throughout the year.
